Trendsetter: Coyon Ford!

Noun 1. trend-setter - someone who popularizes a new fashion, fashion arbiter, taste-maker, role model, a model - someone worthy of imitation;

There are very few people that I, myself would consider trendsetters. This is only because I am usually the one setting trends and the characteristics of a trendsetter are very easy for me to spot.

It is one thing to be different. But if no one is emulating you and this uniqueness that you are expressing, then are you really a trendsetter?

In the case of a young gentleman, by the name of Coyon Ford, he is definitely a trendsetter and his trendsetting characteristics were highly visible, the first day that I met him in 2006, when I assisted his Sean Jean | Parisian | Indiana Black Expo Fashion Show, rehearsal.

Today, Coyon Ford can be known as the same humble spirited, midwest fashion show producer, apparel stylist and extremely talented person that has worked 3 shows for the S/S 2011 Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week. The fashion liaison that ran around with Serena Williams, the majority of the day, met Andre' Leon Talley, and was involved in a mix of elite fashion professionals that made celebrities such as, Vera Wang, Kanye West and more only a phone call away.

A little over three months ago, one of my connections introduced me to this wonderful kid sensation named Jacob Latimore, by showing me some of his YouTube videos in which he has tons!!! Please link in to his YouTube Channel here to view this child's enormous talent.

How What You Eat Affects Your Health!

Apple Cider Vinegar
Beside having amazing healing properties, apple cider vinegar keeps skin supple. It's heavy concentration of enzymes helps peel off dead skin cells. It breaks down fat and helps food digest properly.

You should choose foods that you enjoy, of course, but you need to include the following:

Vegetables
Three to five servings daily. Try to include one serving of raw, leafy greens.

Meat
Have no more than three three ounce servings a day. Cut off all fat. Try to make two servings of turkey or chicken. One serving of fish a day is ideal.

Fruits
Two to three servings daily. A 1/2 cup of chopped or sliced fruit is a serving. Fruit salad

Dairy
At least two servings daily. A serving would be eight ounces of milk or yogurt.

Fats
Salad dressing, cooking oil, butter, and mayonnaise should be limited to two servings a day.

Decoded: Jay-Z's Book

Initially announced earlier in the year, the cover art for Jay-Z's Decoded has finally been unveiled. Quite the interesting move for the famed musician, Decoded plays the role of exactly what its title suggest, the decoding of 36 classic Jay-Z tracks. For each, Mr. Carter provides his own insight into the meaning behind particular lyrics, and his reasoning for writing them. Hip-hop educational and equally entertaining, the book will be offered in a hardcover version through publisher Spiegel & Grau and in digital form via an eBook and iPhone/iPad app. A release is set for November 16th through finer booksellers, including Amazon, which is now taking pre-orders for the special price of $21 USD.

To my readers everywhere, especially the Atlanta area, go by and view this very creative, artsy and media infused presentation, entitled, "Convergent Frequencies".

Each evening at dusk, media artist and designer Matt Gilbert will present his new video inspired by the modularity of the brain’s vision system and the similar separation of color and movement in digital video. It splits images of the local area and musical performance into two parts-movement and color-investigating them as independent components, and recombining them into a new video work.

In short, three local artists will reinvent the empty lot with three large shipping containers using images, film, and sound, while simultaneously celebrating the surrounding neighborhoods.

What: Local artists Matt Gilbert, Matt Haffner, and Nat Slaughter celebrate the grittiness of Inman Park, Little Five Points, and Old Fourth Ward with a mixed-media installation using steel shipping containers.
Why: Film images, string instruments, wheat paste collages, and field study audio recordings flood your senses.
When: Sept. 17th - Sept. 19th, 6 p.m.-midnight.

 If you happen to be in London, it is a must that you dine at the "newly opened" Tiny Robot Restaurant and Bar. It is located in the famous area of Notting Hill on the site of famed brunch spot Harlem (and little sister to Clerkenwell’s Giant Robot).
